Can't afford the real high end lenses. Have Canon EF 28-135
IS zoom and Canon EF 70-300 IS USM and need a comparable
wide angle.

Thanks,
Brian

The EF-S 18-55 f/3.5-5.6 IS appears on the canon website for $199.99. It is
a bit wider than the 28 mm so it extends your range.

I meant 18-55 IS. The $199.99 value is too high. I have payd less than
100 euro's (=$144.00) for this lens.

You can get the lens at B&H Photo (bhphotvideo.com) for $140.

First of all the most important question left out is 'what kind of
camera is the lense going on'. EF-S mounts are different than the EF
mount. If the camera only takes the EF lens than the EF-S isn't the
lens to get. Without knowing the camera type and assuming you want a
lens that provides a relative good wide angle try the EF 24mm - 70mm
lens by Sigma. Otherwise invest in a wide angle lens only.

If the camera has a full 35mm sensor, the EF-S is out of the question.
Even if the lens fit on that camera you'll be looking through a
tunnel. I think it's called Vignette.

I'm using a Canon 5D Mark II upgrading from the Canon 5D and there's a
big difference between the two. I made that mistake of ordering a
lens made for smaller sensor cameras. Had to send it back.

Check out the message header for the type of camera.
